Electroflotation for the reduction of heavy metals and the AOX-value

In July 2006 a new water treatment plant were commissioned at the Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG, a European leader in production of PVC and preliminary products, to reduce the AOX-content in the water. The principle of the treatment plant is according to the electroflotation system. The unit was designed to treat 10 m³/h water continuously. Because of the process the heavy metals inside the water are reduced smultaneously below detection limit.

The electroflotation system is excellent suitable to reduce heavy metals and the AOX-content in liquids. The running costs are small. The specific current use is approximately 1 kWh per m³ of water. Additional costs are expandable electrodes (iron or aluminum) and acid or leach if necessary.
